Addis Ababa, October 31, 2019 (FBC) –Ethiopia will take part in a meeting which will be hosted by the United States to talk over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).Nebiat Getachew, Spokesperson of MFA, told journalists today that the Government has accepted the invitation by the US for a meeting to discuss over the dam.He said Foreign Ministers of Ethiopia, Sudan and Egypt will take part at the meeting to be held in Washington soon.Regarding economic diplomacy, he said, an Ethiopian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen, took part in the business forums held in Paris, France as well as Rome and Milan, Italy from October 16-21/2019.The forums have brought together investors from both countries, where they were also given briefings by Ethiopian officials on the inclusive reforms taking place in the horn of African nation.The Spokesperson further said Ethiopian Consulate in Beirut is following closely the situation of Ethiopians living in Lebanon.More than 400,000 Ethiopians are estimated to live in Lebanon but no victims have been reported so far, he said.
